Extreme’s first album in thirteen years doesn’t just mark the band’s hotly anticipated return to the studio and stage. Saudades de Rock (pronounced “sow-dodge”) is a groundbreaking record that reaffirms the beloved, Boston-bred foursome’s stature as innovators in the world of rock & roll.
Fostered by the same unwavering songcraft and diverse musical approaches that first earned the band – vocalist Gary Cherone, guitarist Nuno Bettencourt, bassist Pat Badger and new drummer Kevin Figueiredo – multi-platinum albums with chart topping hits and sold-out tours the globe over, Extreme’s fifth studio offering just may be its finest hour yet.

My team Barcelona.....

FC Barcelona has long been a favourite football club for many British followers. Perhaps it has been because of their status as an ‘anti-Franco’ club. Or perhaps fans have been attracted by the membership structure of the club that gives ordinary supporters a say in the election of presidents. Or it might even be because of its long standing reputation for playing open and attractive football, with some of the world’s very best players pulling on the famous blue and claret shirts.
Founded in 1899, when the Swiss-born Hans Gamper established a team made up of Swiss, English and Catalan players, the club quickly established itself as a focal point of the city and the region. Gamper is an integral part of the early history of the club – scoring103 goals between 1901 and 1903 and then becoming the president until his death in 1930. It was he who enabled the club to purchase their first ground in 1909, with a capacity of just 6,000 people. Gamper then oversaw the development of the Les Corts stadium, initially with room for 30,000 although it was later doubled in size. And, the year before his death, he was able to see his club become the first ever Spanish League champions. By this time, with in excess of 10,000 members, Barcelona was already attracting star footballers from overseas – the Uruguayan striker Hector Scarone being the first of many ‘big money’ signings. Perhaps the most famous of Barcelona’s players in this era, however, was the goalkeeper Ricardo Zamora. Zamora is remembered today for mainly two reasons. Firstly, he has given his name to the trophy awarded to the best goalkeeper in La Liga each season. And secondly, he was the first player to tread that dangerous transfer path from Barcelona to Real Madrid!

My favorite soccer player

David Villa Sanchez (born December 3, 1981 in Langreo, Asturias, Spain), is nicknamed El Guaje (The Kid) he is a Spanish football player, who currently plays for Valencia CF and the Spanish national side.

Early career
Born in the Asturias region in Northern Spain, he got his professional breakthrough at his local club Sporting de Gijón for whom he made his first-team debut in the 2000-01 season. The next season he was a first team regular, scoring 18 league goals, and scored 20 the next season. After over 50 goals in just three seasons at Gijón, he got his chance in Spain's top-flight the La Liga, when promoted Zaragoza bought him in the summer of 2003. He had no trouble adapting to the step up in class and scored 17 times in his first season at Zaragoza. Villa led Zaragoza to a Copa del Rey victory scoring the winning goal against Real Madrid.

Soon after he earned his first international call-up and cap, Valencia decided to take a chance on him and parted with over £8 million to secure his services in the summer of 2005.

My Favorite Band

Mexican trio Camila made a strong entrance onto the Spanish-speaking pop/rock scene in the summer of 2006. The group is comprised of the previously unknown Samo (voice), Pablo Hurtado (guitar), and industry mainstay Mario Domm (piano, voice, composer, and producer). Domm, having started his songwriting career nearly 15 years before, writing hits for such major-label successes as OV 7, the Sacados, X-Magneto, Giovanni, El Circulo, and Edel Juárez, is undoubtedly the bandmember with a master plan for success. Reyli Barba, Sin Bandera, and Kalimba all have Domm to thank for his hit songs and a winning producer's ear. Those songwriting and production skills, combined with the fresh artistic perspective of Samo and Hurtado, resulted in the release of their 2006 debut record, Todo Cambió. The hit single from that record, "Abrazame," has consistently made waves on Billboard's Latin charts. The group's takeoff was so rapid that the aforementioned single was radio-ready before the bandmembers had even selected a name for themselves. Settling on Camila -- meaning "close to God" -- seemed appropriate thanks to the granting of the group's collective dream. The record was subsequently nominated for Premio lo Nuestro's Revelation of the Year award. Camila have since toured exhaustively throughout Latin America.
